Dear friends,
I am currently casting for my new film ‘Chaplin of the Mountains’; a Kurdish/American/French production in which three people travel the remote mountain villages of Kurdistan to screen Charlie Chaplin films while a fourth person, a Kurdish/French girl, tags along with a quest to find her roots. The film, to be shot this summer (June/July), will show the beauty of the land and the colorful culture of the Kurds, both of which remain virgin to cinema.
Casting for the following:
Nazé – early to mid twenties to early thirties – sweet, attractive, French with Kurdish origin with an emotional scar, in search of her roots in the mountains of Kurdistan, must speak English fluently and some French.
Kani – mid twenties to mid thirties, early thirties – Kurdish/American, worldly, adventurous, an extrovert who finds a funny side to every situation, humorous, philosophical and a humanist who cares much about the environment and preserving the Kurdish culture and traditions. Must speak Kurdish and French.
Shireen: Mid to late twenties, an attractive out going, sociable and argumentative local journalist, who can work her way into any situation and come out a winner.
I have already been casting for the American roles in LA and NY. Would like to explore the Kurdish communities in Europe for the above Kurdish roles. Kindly spread the word and drop me a note if you have a lead.
Please note: the above roles will require the entire months of June and July in Kurdistan – there is pay, but all expenses will be covered.
